A Dream More Than 20 Years in the Making
For more than 20 years, Pastors Víctor and Flor Vallejo have carried in their hearts the dream of opening a children’s feeding center for boys and girls in a vulnerable community in Matamoros, Tamaulipas.
Today, we believe that dream can become a reality!.
Open Hands, Open Hearts was born with the purpose of providing prepared meals, spiritual care, and a safe environment where children can feel seen, cared for, loved, and valued.

The Need
In Colonia 18 de Octubre, many families face financial limitations. Some children travel long distances — up to 3 miles, or 5 kilometers — to attend school, while others do not have enough support for their daily meals.
We want to respond with practical love.
This is not only about serving food. It is about opening a table of hope, creating a place of trust, and reminding every child that God has not forgotten them.

How the Feeding Center Will Work
The project will begin gradually and in an organized way.
☻ At first, prepared and packaged meals will be distributed three days a week. Each package will include a prepared meal, fruit, and water or juice, depending on availability.
☻ As resources and attendance increase, we will seek to expand the days of service and prepare the space to operate as an in-person feeding center.
☻ During each service day, we will also share a word of encouragement, prayer, and values that strengthen the faith, hope, and hearts of the children.

To open this feeding center in a dignified, safe, and functional way, we need to prepare the space, equip the kitchen, acquire furniture, cover basic services, and sustain the first months of operation.
